If you have an intense fear of the dentist you are not alone. Many patients feel excessive anxiety at just the thought of visiting a dentist. At Corporate Center Dental Care we know how important oral hygiene is to your overall health. We are passionate about providing dental care to everyone and dedicated to not allowing fear to be a barrier to a healthy smile. That is why we have implemented an alternative to traditional anxiety-ridden appointments known as sedation dentistry.
You can feel confident in Corporate Center Dental Care's ability to perform sedation dentistry. Dr. Feck has to lead the way in sedation dentistry cementing himself as Lexington's leading sedation dentistry expert. Dr. Feck serves as the Dean of Faculty for DOCS which teaches the proper and most effective way to practice sedation dentistry to dentists from all over the country. His expertise is unmatched, and he has passed his passion and knowledge onto the rest of his staff. You will be sure to get the proper care and the best experience you have ever had at the dentist.
There are two types of sedation dentistry: Oral and Intravenous (IV). Oral is the less invasive of the two. At Corporate Center Dental Care we strive to make the process as effortless as possible. You take a small pill on an empty stomach an hour before your appointment. The pill will act as a mild sedative and will quell your anxiety. Someone will drive you to the office, once you get there you'll be a little drowsy. We will evaluate you to see how you are doing if still feel highly anxious we will give you a little more medication if necessary. We will then escort you to your room and wait until you feel comfortable. We will not begin until you are completely relaxed and give us permission to get started. Often times we can get a lot of dentistry done in a short amount of time. Frequently, even all the dentistry that you need in that one visit. When the appointment is over someone will drive you home and the rest of the day you just take it easy. The day after your dental appointment you will feel completely normal except for one thing, you won't remember anything about your dental visit.
We have successfully performed both routine check-ups and more invasive procedures with the use of oral sedation. Our patients have expressed their satisfaction with the process and their gratitude for offering a relaxing alternative. The introduction of sedation dentistry has allowed patients who have avoided the dentist for years to receive the oral care they need.
